The Royal Suite – A unique hotel experience designed by Lars Wallin

Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Gothenburg proudly presents a new era of exclusive accommodation – The Royal Suite, now reimagined by Sweden’s leading couture designer, Lars Wallin.

Inspired by a private penthouse in New York, the suite has been transformed into a space where international elegance meets Scandinavian finesse.

Spanning 160 square meters, the suite features a welcoming lounge, a dining room for up to 12 guests, a bedroom, walk-in closet, private bar, and a bathroom with sauna – designed as a luxurious private spa. The suite is more than just a place to stay – it’s a versatile venue for intimate dinners, private events, and exclusive business meetings.

For the first time ever, Lars Wallin is launching his own line of furniture – many pieces custom-designed for the suite – which will also be available for purchase. The project marks a new dimension in Wallin’s creative expression and his longstanding collaboration with the hotel.

“I wanted to create a suite that reflects the hotel’s international character – a place with bold colors, multifunctional spaces, and a touch of glamour,” says Lars Wallin.

In addition to the interior design, the suite will also showcase a curated selection of artworks in collaboration with Wetterling Gallery. The pieces will be rotated regularly, making each visit a unique experience – like staying inside a living art exhibition.

Over the years, The Royal Suite has hosted many celebrities including Madonna, David Bowie, Dolly Parton, Paul McCartney, and Elton John, as well as international dignitaries and royalty. With Lars Wallin’s vision, the suite has been brought to life once again – a space where design, function, and artistic luxury come together.

“Lars has a unique ability to create environments that feel both exclusive and inviting. We are incredibly proud to continue our collaboration with him,” says Jessica Rivle, General Manager.

Lars Wallin is also currently featured in a major anniversary exhibition at the Artipelag art museum, celebrating his 35 years as a fashion designer and creator.
